As 2016 comes to an end, we are reflecting on some of our favorite rug designs from the year.

We are excited to share some images that our friend and colleague Teddy Sumner of Michaelian and Kohlberg has sent to us from his latest travels to India. What a pleasure it has been to view ‘behind the scenes’ photos of the daily happenings at Teddy’s weaving facility. Moments that caught his attention…caught ours as well.

Cool Tones in Contemporary Rug Designs

With cool tones leading the way in this seasons color trends, we are excited to introduce you to The Casablanca Collection, by New Moon Rugs. Inspired by the many inlaid designs seen in Moorish architecture, these rugs feature overlapping and repetitive shapes and patterns.

Realistic Rug Designs by Samad Rugs

The inspiration for these dynamic area rug designs came from a vivid photograph of wild horses. The challenge was figuring out how to convert such a captivating image into a full-fledged rug, without compromising the authenticity of the captured moment.

2016 and 2017 Rug Collections

Designer Robin Gray is no stranger to bringing a fresh approach to creating works of art for the floor and her 2016 and 2017 Collections showcase her artistic eye and architectural style. Gray says “the 2016 Collection is mostly about surface design and the 2017 Collection is all based on colored pencil drawings” she’s created.
