As you drive underneath the stone archway, you are greeted by towering spruce trees. A break in the pines reveals a structure complete with old-world flourishes reminiscent of early European opulence, complete with gabled wall dormers and Gothic quatrefoil balconies. After exiting the car under the porte cochere, the glass doors open, welcoming you to a majestic great room filled with warm European butternut wood and regal limestone. The smell of sizzling cuisine scents the air and live piano playing delights your ears. Your spirit is immediately filled with a sense of comfort and ease. A kind soul smiles and greets you. You have arrived at Chateau Beaver Creek, your mountain sanctuary. Who wouldn't want to work on an interior design project here?
The Scarab has wonderful relationships working with local designers on residential projects at exquisite properties such as The Chateau. This particular residence was designed by Slifer Designs, a renowned design firm known for redefining resort style design here in the Vail Valley.
We work with lead designers by hand-picking fine rugs to accompany the overall design aesthetic of a particular space. This project was a beautiful combination of dark and light woods, elegant stone, bright colors and an eclectic mix of art.
A mix of weaves, vibrant colors and materials in the rugs were chosen to reflect the mix of design elements throughout. You will find wool, silk and natural materials. These elements are such an organic way to make furnishings and other design elements really pop - the perfect companionship.
